Ava's Big Girl Room

This week we moved Ava to the room that used to be the guest room. Her old room is going to become the Nursery. We spent the week getting it all ready for her, and she has been pretty excited as she has seen her toys and clothes move in. She loves it during the day, but adjusting to sleeping in a different room at night has been hard. Hopefully, it will become more familiar and she'll start going to sleep a little better on her own again. Here are some pictures of the room. I think it turned out pretty cute. We used all the furniture we already had and just updated the bedding, pillows and curtains. It looks better in person. The pictures don't really show the colors well. (Teressa, you'll just have to come to Abilene to see us and check it out for yourself!)

Please don't stop posting. I always love reading what you guys are up to and I love hearing Ava stories. Anyways, you have to post when the new baby gets here. I will just have to see what that sweet boy looks like! :)

It's so cute! I love the curtains. It's so much fun decorating a little girl's room. I've enjoyed doing Abby's new room. I hope it turns out as cute as Ava's. I'll miss you too this next weekend. Hope you have a great Mother's day and wish Chad a Happy Birthday from me.

i can't believe how much you did in such a short amount of time. i am amazed!!
the room looks very cute- it's something that she can grow in to, so hopefully you won't have to redo it anytime soon! i wish i had the energy/mobility to help out, but maybe i will be able to work on the play room!

Just as I expected...amazing! I know Ava is enjoying it! By the way, we went to Dallas today to rent props for Summer Spectacular! Is there a chance that Ava is interested in coming to hear the story of Daniel?
You are always right here with us!

That is so precious. I don't know you, but can I ask if you decorated the toy chest and if so with paper?? Sorry to be nosy...moving soon and re-doing my girl's rooms! I am not a complete "stranger" since i went to ACU too....I am gathering you did as well.

I did go to ACU and to answer your question, I did recover the toy chest. It was old, green, and from my grandmother's house. I just painted it white, and then used alot of modge podge to glue cute paper in a patchwork of squares all over it. I found coordinating paper in pinks and browns and saturated them with glue as I arranged it, making sure to press out all the air bubbles as I went. Then I put a layer or two of glossy modge podge over the whole thing when I was done. I'm glad you liked. It was an easy project. I did it while watching a late night movie! Done in 2 hours. . .
Best wishes with your redecorating. Blogs are funny-- never know who might be stopping by!
